do I need to be stocking up on any particular brand/speed/type of blank dvds? I know w/ the 360s all you could use was the DL Verbatims (I believe it was). Does it matter w/ the wii or no?

I've thrown bullshit media at the wii and everything plays fine. It's not picky like the 360.

actually for bullshit media on my wii is crap. i had burned a few games onto the Dynex dvd-r and it never played. i used tdk brand and it works fine. although on my 360, i'm using memorex dual layer

I've used Dynex Media on Wii's before and never had a problem. I guess it depends on the Wii. As for 360 Verbatim or Memorex is all I use.

no I had a japanese game which is deff PAL and it played fine, just couldn't understand it.....you can usually youtube the videos and it will tell u how to take it apart and how to apply the wiikey 2 onto the wii, thats how i did it

Wii plays both NTSC/PAL. You have to turn your region override on, but they will both work.

However, NEVER update from a PAL disc.

i searched after the last time you posted that, of course not putting a link, and all the ones I saw the wii was already disassembled or they were going 3-4x actual speed so it wasn't the easiest to follow along with. a link to the video that you used would be helpful, but I guess that's not going to happen....
