Easy Wallpapers & High Quality MP3 Ringtones On You ic902

OK, not going exactly step by step, but pretty close.

1) Trim your MP3 to the length you want it. I usually go about 15-20 seconds. Remember, it's a ringtones, not a stereo. Keep the 3 minute songs in the music player.
2) Convert your trimmed MP3 to 64kb/s, 44,100 khz, mono
3) Use Rumkin Phone Uploader to send it to your phone.
http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
Put your phone number in the Send To box
Put a title in the description box
Click browse and open the MP3
Click Upload file to send the MP3
4) After a minute or two you will get a text messsage on your phone. Simply click option, and open the web address, and you can download the MP3 as a ringtone.

Simple as that.

Alternativel, if you dont want to have the phone sent a text message to save on your # of messages, do everything as stated above up to step 3

3) Use Rumkin Phone Uploader to send it to your phone.
http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
Leave the Send To box Blank
Put a title in the description box
Click browse and open the MP3
Click Upload file to send the MP3
4) When your upload is complete you will be taken to a page with a Jump Code. Take note of this. Open your phone's web browser, and go to http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/jump.php When there, type that Jump Code into the field for it and you will download your ringtone.

For wallpapers, it is the exact same process, just use either a regular or animated GIF or a JPEG file with a resolution of 320*240 (NOT 176*220 as has been posted before)/

I had no problem uploading and then downloading the ringtones I made. The problem is the phone will not allow me to assign them as ringers. Also, all the ringers are downloaded to the phone's memory and I want to have them on the sd card, but I can't figure out how to transfer them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use Cool Edit Pro to trim them, then DB Poweramp to change the bit rate to 64kbs and 44.1 khz.

Is there any dissadvantage to doing this using this web based program?
I would prefer to do it with the cable, but I have only gotten this method to work, thus far.

if we do this the alternative way, will we be charged the cost of a text message?

or is the only free way to do it is with the cable?

^ If you have unlimited data plan it wont cost you a thing to download and with the unlimited data plan there is 1k text messages or the $15 on witch is unlimited data and text so basically without text just more work for you to do with your finger but just a couple extra steps.

anyone know what settings to use to make the mp3 ringtones smaller in size?
I just cut a regular mp3 down to 30 seconds but they stay at either 128 or 192 kbps and the size is from 500-700 kb.
I just want to make them smaller without loosing quality...the way I have them now sound great on the phone

I used 96kbps, 44,100kHz, Mono. Great quality and usually only about 150-250kb per tone.

at the settings of 320 x 240 for the wallpapers it doesnt seem to fit the whole screen (gray bar at the bottom), is there a different setting?
