The METAL thread

Im curious as to the number of members here interested in the darker side of music.

Post favorite bands, sub-genres, past and upcoming concerts.... basically anything of interest.

Anywho, on to the action... last night i saw one of the best concerts of my life. Headlining was In Flames, and Arch Enemy. Trivium and A Dozen Furies opened for them. I've never seen so much energy in one room before. I left the show completely drenched in sweat head to toe and every part of my body inside and out was on the breech of shutting down.

Holy fuck was it worth it.

I think the best part was getting to see Angela Gossow up close *drools*

What genres of metal do you enjoy?
I like it all but my main interest is black and death metal.

I'm more into hardcore then metal, but I do like some Metal bands such as
Opeth, Unearth, Chimaira. I got alot of good shit I can upload and share especially if your into hardcore/metalcore

BTW- Godsmack is not metal, more like hard pussy rock

i just signed up with filefarm.com but there seems to be problems uploading anything over like 50 megs right now, which eliminates most albums

as for the bands mentioned thus-far, opeth fucking owns. i've been dying to see them live, i've heard that every song they play leaves you completely breathless.

slipknot are alright... good for some 'pumping up' style music

personally my favorite bands are from the melodic/neo-classical death genre. especialy bands with sweedish/finnish origin.

in flames started it all for me, but i developed a love for a similar band "divine souls" whose 2 albums are some of my all time favorites.

towards the more 'extreme' end of things, i cant get through a day without at least one dose of cradle of filth, and deicide is ranked pretty damn high in my books, for whenever i feel the satanic edge

as for the nu-metal stylings, EVERYONE love system of a down. Otep is a goddess, and Rammstein has some great tracks

also on my top bands list would be children of bodom, nightwish, iced earth, slayer, soulfly, pantera... gotta have a mix of everything

anyways, any requests for uploads?

Hardcore is a form of metal in my book. Chimaira is a killer fucking band. If you have something to share and are willing to, I say go for it. I am always looking for new shit to slit my wrists to.

I am mostly into the norwegian and swedish but my collection has extremes like

Black Dawn, Gorgoroth, 1349, Setherial, Ragnarok, Dark Funeral, Funeral Mist.

to stuff such as

Amon Amarth, Opeth, Avenged Sevenfold, As I lay dying, Heaven Shall Burn, Lamb Of God

and

Deftones, UltraSpank, Dry Kill Logic, Fear Factory, SevenDust, Type O Negative

and the list goes on.

If it's metal, I am listening to it.
